The hour
everyone chases
The Bay of Naples gets a different kind of light in late afternoon — gold turning to copper on the water, the cliffs of the Sorrentine peninsula picking up the last of the sun. This evening is short, three or four hours, designed entirely around being on the water at exactly that moment.
It works as a celebration. It works after a long day in the heat of Capri. It works as a soft introduction to the area on your first evening in Sorrento.
An Italian aperitivo on board — a few classics, something to nibble, a bottle of crisp wine. The captain finds the right cove for the right ten minutes, and you watch the day go down from the deck.
